I went to The Pickering Arms last night with friends. The Pick is our... "local" is the wrong word for it... "regular" may be better. Unfortunately it's quite a smokey pub and the regulars aren't that happy with the public smoking ban which came in at 6am this morning. Exhibit A is the poster on the door. It was announcing that "If we all pull together we'll be living in a smoke free pub" or something. Artful additions to this poster were the scrawling out of "smoke free pub" and addition of "a police state".
